(S2E55) – MAANTA RAAY
On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E55), we chat with Chet Weise from MAANTA RAAY, who seemingly out of nowhere dropped their self-titled, amazing, heavy space psych ripper via No Sabes Records last month. Chet had one of the coolest backgrounds the show has seen so far, and spent almost an hour with us telling us some amazing stories about the band, the record, his life pre MAANTA RAAY (some of you may know Chet from The Immortal Lee County Killers) and so much more. Turbo even gets to have some hot rod talk as Rich ponders why he has no idea about cars other than how to put gas in them (barely). The MAANTA RAAY record rules and so does Chet. Please check it out!!!

(S2E54) – Insomniac
The episode is dedicated to the memory of Mike Morris
On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E54), the boys talk to Amos Rifkin from the new Blues Funeral Recordings band Insomniac! Insomniac have their amazing debut record, Om Moksha Ritam, dropping on Sept. 5, 2025, and it is a heavy head trip journey that really sounds like nothing else out there. It is an album that you can just close your eyes and let the record take you over, but is still heavy as hell in its own way. The band lost a member just a few weeks ago, as founding guitarist Mike Morris passed away, but the band is soldiering on in his honor, as hard as that may be. Amos discusses all of the emotions that go along with this gigantic loss while putting out this record as well as a ton of other topics about the new record and the band, including the tour they are doing, opening for Kal-El. I really appreciate Amos spending the time with us during such a difficult and busy period for the band. Please check it out.

(S2E53) – Patriarchs In Black
Fanboy alert! For this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour, Rich speaks with Patriarchs In Black!!! Both Dan Lorenzo (Hades/Non-Fiction/Cassius King) and Johnny Kelly (you know…) joined the show to talk about the new PiB record, Home, that dropped on August 15th. As with the other three records, this one has some more killer guest vocalists, including Karl Agell, Kyle Thomas, Mark Sunshine, and the return of DMC! The PiB records are always a fun ride, and this one is no exception. The buried lead here is that Rich got to talk to Johnny Kelly, from one of his top three favorite bands of all time (that would be Type O Negative) and he somehow managed to behave himself. Both guys were so cool and spent almost an hour talking about Home, what other projects they are up to, including Johnny’s new band with Kenny from Type O and Kirk and Todd from Crowbar that somehow Rich has the vinyl for before johnny does, Johnny’s time with Danzig, his current gig with Quiet Riot, Dan’s work with Jason McMaster in Cassius King, what’s up for the guys in the future, and so much more. Please check this out, it was so much fun.

(S2E52) – HÖG
Friday, August 22nd has a ton of killer new releases dropping, so we are loading up on the episodes! We listen to a ton of new music, but it is rare that an album stops me in my tracks and proceeds to blow me away. That is just what the debut record from Portland, Oregon’s HÖG did to me, so I knew I just had to have them on the show for the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E52). Daniel and Adam from the band joined the show to talk about their debut record, Blackhole, that drops on this very busy 22nd of August, via RidingEasy Records. We discuss the new record and how incredible it is with Rich going full on fanboy. We chatted about some other cool stuff too. Be prepared to be blown away by HÖG’s album of the year candidate. Check it!

(S2E51) – Black Sunrise
We are in a time where there are so many excellent “new” bands dropping amazing records, and we got to talk to another one on this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E51), as Adam from Highland, Indiana’s Black Sunrise joins the show. Black Sunrise has their debut full length record dropping tomorrow, August 22nd, titled Drowning, and it is absolutely killer. We discuss the new record, how it came to be, the music that inspires the band, we nerd out on 90s alt rock (someone mentions The Cardigans…someone else mentions The Crash Test Dummies…), the local scene, including Adam’s role in the Midwest Doom Coalition, and so much more. This Friday is stacked with new releases, so don’t let Drowning pass you by. Please check out the record and then this episode!!!

(S2E50) – The Judge
One of the show’s favorite bands is back after a long hiatus, and we got to speak to them for this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E50). We have three of the four members of St. Louis band The Judge join the show!!! The guys were nice enough to join us from their Milwaukee hotel room as they were gearing up for their next show of their mini tour, where they will be featuring new music for the first time since Tell It To The Judge that dropped from Ripple Music back in 2017. We got some breaking news on their new stuff, including a killer split the band is doing with another amazing Ripple band, and we chatted about so much more. If you want a peak at the new stuff, go check out the video for the new track The Rat (WATCH HERE)… it is killer. We had some occasional audio issues but nothing stops the rock!!! Please check it out!!!

(S2E49) – Liquid Pennies
One of the things I love about having this show is that we are able to talk to bands that are new to me and maybe new to the listening community, and that is why for this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E49), I am so excited to give you my discussion with St. Petersburg, Florida band Liquid Pennies. I listened to the promo of their new record, Fore (out now on vinyl from Threat Collection Records), and was simply blown away by how great it is and in how many awesome directions it goes in, from psych, to 90s alt rock, to prog, to stoner, and a bunch of places in between. I reached out as fast as I could, and Chas and Pierson agreed to join the show to discuss Fore, and to talk about the history of the band, the influences the band leverages, the Tampa scene, their first every vinyl pressing, and a bit about them opening for Truckfighters and Restless Spirit in Orlando (see you there, with the amazing Florist too!). Please check out their record and please give this interview a listen!
