(S2E53) – Patriarchs In Black
Fanboy alert! For this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour, Rich speaks with Patriarchs In Black!!! Both Dan Lorenzo (Hades/Non-Fiction/Cassius King) and Johnny Kelly (you know…) joined the show to talk about the new PiB record, Home, that dropped on August 15th. As with the other three records, this one has some more killer guest vocalists, including Karl Agell, Kyle Thomas, Mark Sunshine, and the return of DMC! The PiB records are always a fun ride, and this one is no exception. The buried lead here is that Rich got to talk to Johnny Kelly, from one of his top three favorite bands of all time (that would be Type O Negative) and he somehow managed to behave himself. Both guys were so cool and spent almost an hour talking about Home, what other projects they are up to, including Johnny’s new band with Kenny from Type O and Kirk and Todd from Crowbar that somehow Rich has the vinyl for before johnny does, Johnny’s time with Danzig, his current gig with Quiet Riot, Dan’s work with Jason McMaster in Cassius King, what’s up for the guys in the future, and so much more. Please check this out, it was so much fun.

(S2E52) – HÖG
Friday, August 22nd has a ton of killer new releases dropping, so we are loading up on the episodes! We listen to a ton of new music, but it is rare that an album stops me in my tracks and proceeds to blow me away. That is just what the debut record from Portland, Oregon’s HÖG did to me, so I knew I just had to have them on the show for the latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S2E52).  Daniel and Adam from the band joined the show to talk about their debut record, Blackhole, that drops on this very busy 22nd of August, via RidingEasy Records. We discuss the new record and how incredible it is with Rich going full on fanboy. We chatted about some other cool stuff too. Be prepared to be blown away by HÖG’s album of the year candidate. Check it!

(S2E51) – Black Sunrise
We are in a time where there are so many excellent “new” bands dropping amazing records, and we got to talk to another one on this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E51), as Adam from Highland, Indiana’s Black Sunrise joins the show. Black Sunrise has their debut full length record dropping tomorrow, August 22nd, titled Drowning, and it is absolutely killer. We discuss the new record, how it came to be, the music that inspires the band, we nerd out on 90s alt rock (someone mentions The Cardigans…someone else mentions The Crash Test Dummies…), the local scene, including Adam’s role in the Midwest Doom Coalition, and so much more. This Friday is stacked with new releases, so don’t let Drowning pass you by. Please check out the record and then this episode!!!

(S2E50) – The Judge
One of the show’s favorite bands is back after a long hiatus, and we got to speak to them for this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E50). We have three of the four members of St. Louis band The Judge join the show!!! The guys were nice enough to join us from their Milwaukee hotel room as they were gearing up for their next show of their mini tour, where they will be featuring new music for the first time since Tell It To The Judge that dropped from Ripple Music back in 2017. We got some breaking news on their new stuff, including a killer split the band is doing with another amazing Ripple band, and we chatted about so much more.  If you want a peak at the new stuff, go check out the video for the new track The Rat (WATCH HERE)… it is killer. We had some occasional audio issues but nothing stops the rock!!! Please check it out!!!

(S2E49) – Liquid Pennies
One of the things I love about having this show is that we are able to talk to bands that are new to me and maybe new to the listening community, and that is why for this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E49), I am so excited to give you my discussion with St. Petersburg, Florida band Liquid Pennies. I listened to the promo of their new record, Fore (out now on vinyl from Threat Collection Records), and was simply blown away by how great it is and in how many awesome directions it goes in, from psych, to 90s alt rock, to prog, to stoner, and a bunch of places in between. I reached out as fast as I could, and Chas and Pierson agreed to join the show to discuss Fore, and to talk about the history of the band, the influences the band leverages, the Tampa scene, their first every vinyl pressing, and a bit about them opening for Truckfighters and Restless Spirit in Orlando (see you there, with the amazing Florist too!). Please check out their record and please give this interview a listen!

(S2E48) – Supernaughty
On this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E48), we keep it international and speak to the killer Italian stoner rock band, Supernaughty! We had all four members join us to talk about their excellent new record, Apocalypso, that is dropping from Ripple Music on August 22, 2025. We cover the making of their new album, the band’s influences, where the name of the album and the name of the band originated from, and so much more. It was a super fun chat and I think you are going to love the new record.  Check it out!!!

(S2E47) – Lorquin's Admiral
On this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E47), we talk to Dandy and Dawn Brown and Nick Hannon from Lorquin's Admiral, who just released their self-titled album of the year candidate debut record via Argonauta Records a few short weeks ago. The trio gave us more than an hour to discuss the new and amazing record, the genesis of some of our favorite tracks, what it was like recording in a world-renowned studio, how the record came together with the members spread out across the world, the sound the band was going for, updates on their other projects (considering everyone is in other amazing bands), and so much more. We had such a great time talking to the band and could have kept it going for hours. Please check it out and if you have not heard the record, make sure you do ASAP.

(S2E47) – Acid Magus
On this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E46), we talk to Keenan Kinnear, the main man from one of the show’s favorite bands, Acid Magus! All the way from South Africa, Keenan joined us late in his evening to discuss Acid Magus and their amazing latest record, Scatterling Empire, which is being pressed on vinyl as we speak and available for preorder. We discuss the new record and why it sounds so much different but just as good or even better than the beloved first two, as well as chatting about the role of lead vocalist Anrico Jeske, why the new record sounds so big, the music Keenan grew up on in South Africa, the band’s artwork, and so much more.  Please check it out!!!

(S2E45) – Bob Balch  (Fu Manchu and so much more)

On this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E45), we are lucky enough to have another guitar legend, Bob Balch, join the show. Bob is one of the busiest men in rock, with his full-time job as riff dealer in one of the best bands in the world, Fu Manchu, as well as his other projects like Big Scenic Nowhere, Yawning Balch, and Sun and Sail Club, to name a few, not to mention all of his guitar teaching he does. We spent a bunch of our chat talking about his new traditional metal style project coming out on Ripple Music next spring. Go listen to this episode to get all of the details, but boy does it sound awesome. For the gear nerds Bob shows off some of his equipment as he spoke to us from his home studio. Bob was awesome, and was so cool to give us as much time as he did. Please check it out!!!

(S2E46) – Psalm
On this episode of Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour (S2E44), we talk to a young band who gives me hope that rock and roll will live on, Psalm! The Las Vegas doom trio, and lovers of Trouble, just released their new killer EP, In Darkness…Have Mercy, which is getting a ton of buzz. Lead vocalist/bassist Jon Torres joined the show and we geeked out on heavy metal and talked about the songs on the EP, what it was like opening for Pentagram in their first show with a new lineup, the other bands the guys have been in, and what to expect next from the band. Jon’s passion and knowledge of the classics at such a young age was inspiring, so please go and listen to the EP and the episode, because big things are coming for Psalm!
