(S2E7) - Kal-El
When I started the Podcast I had a list of five bands that were my dream guests for the show. I can now cross one of those bands off the list, because this time on the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E7), we talk to Kal-El! Yes, Kal-El!!! We were lucky enough to have the two original members of the band, Bjørn Stornes (drums) and Ståle Rodvelt (vocals), on the show and they gave us a whole bunch of their time on the chaotic day their new single and the preorder dropped for the first of their two-record epic release, Astral Voyager Vol. 1, being brought to you from Blues Funeral in the US and Majestic Mountain across the rest of the world. We talk about the new record as well as Volume 2 of the series, which will follow later this year, as well as a ton of other really cool stuff. I try not to fanboy out too hard but it was not easy. In addition, Rich and Turbo discuss their new album of the episode, the classic record of the week, and Turbo's Future Classic Song. Please check it out!!!

We sat down with founding member/guitarist Steven Scavuzzo and talk all about the band, including about their new release, a live in the studio record called Birmingham 2024, which is the first record in a super cool series that the band has started, available for order on their Bandcamp page and through Majestic Mountain Records outside the U.S. We discuss all sorts of other topics and of course, as a fellow Long Islander, Steve was super cool to chat with. In addition, Rich and Turbo discuss their new album of the episode, the classic record of the week, and Turbo's Future Classic Song. Please check it out!!!

(S2E5) - Blue Heron
This time on the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E5), we talk to the mighty Blue Heron! We were lucky enough to have 3/4 of the band join us. Jadd (vocals), Big Steve (bass), and Ricardo (drums) gave us a bunch of their time and talked about a number of topics with us, with the focus on one of the heaviest and one of our favorite records from 2024, Everything Fades. We discuss the early days of the band as well as the band before, Spiritu, the main musical influences for each of the members, if there are actually Blue Herons in the desert, and Turbo confirms the origin of the band name. You can hear Rich fanboy over one of his favorite drummers too. In addition, Rich and Turbo discuss their favorite records of January 2025. Check it out!!!

(S2E3A) - Ultra Death Cult and Shrew
This time on a special extra edition of the Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour, we have interviews with two new bands that are making some huge waves in the scene. First, we have Chris Taylor from the new and mysterious Ultra Death Cult. This interview confirms that he is 100% a real dude who creates filthy dirty riffs with real guitars. The debut EP is called End Times Are Good Times, it dropped on January 4th, 2025, and it rips up the place. Second, we talk to the new band coming out on Glory or Death Records soon, Portland, Oregon's Shrew, who consists of a member of Slow Goat and former members of Greenseeker. Rich talks to Selina and Rosie from the band about the new, self-titled record that will be dropping early this year, and so much more. I have been lucky enough to hear it and it is excellent. Small Stone will be celebrating 30 years soon, so this was the perfect time to connect with Scott about the influential label and try to get out of him what's coming in 2025. Scott has all sorts of cool stories and an amazing back catalog, so there was so much to chat about, including Big Chief, Kid Rock, Puny Human, The Verve, Five Horse Johnson, record collecting, a really cool interaction with a very famous guitarist, Rich tries to reignite some kind of label beef, and much more. In addition, Rich and Turbo talk about their album and classic album of the episode (interview tie in!!!), and Turbo's future classic song. Check it out!

This time on the Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour, we talk to the Edinburgh, Scotland power trio The Kryss Talmeth Experience! In addition, Rich and Turbo list their most overlooked records of 2024, the classic album of the episode (we talk Warrior Soul!!!) and Turbo's future classic song. Check it out!

(S1E27) - Top 12 of Q4, 2024 (w/Special Guest Host Rob in the 'Hood)
This time on a very special episode of the Rich & Turbo's Heavy Half Hour, we have X personality and heavy music aficionado Rob in the 'Hood join us to discuss our top 12 albums of Q4, 2024, because 10 is way too small for this show, plus it was a killer quarter. This is the first time the three of us have ever talked together, and you know there will be some opinions tossed around. For example, why Rob's number one and number two should be reversed. It's the episode released on Christmas where we actually don't mention Christmas at all, which tracks nicely. Check it out!!!
